Charlie Seaton committed suicide on last Friday by shooting himself through the heart, and his remains were interred at Cedar Rapids on last Sabbath. His disappointment in not securing the girl of his affections drove him to the rash act. He had wooed and won the love of a young lady in the neighborhood and they were to have been married, but the parents refused their consent, their daughter not being 15 years old. Upon being refused admittance to the home of the girl also, he, in a fit of desperation threatened to kill the girl, her uncle and himself. He succeeded in taking his own life, and died in about three minutes after the fatal shot.
