Elmer L. DICKEY, 93, formerly of Rt. 2, Akron, died at 11:18 p.m. Monday at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw, where he had lived for seven years.
He was born in Franklin Township of Kosciusko County to J. Frank and Alta ENGLE DICKEY. On Dec. 26, 1926 he married Banche Marie MILLER, who died Oct. 27, 1983. He was a retired farmer and had raised registered Hampshire hogs and Hereford cattle. He was a member of the Akron Church of God and the Farmers Union.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Marcella) MEREDITH, Burket, and Mrs. Stan (Carol Ann) SHEWMAN, Akron; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were two sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Akron Church of God with Pastor James MALBONE officiating. Burial will be in the Nichols Cemetery, north of Akron. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
