Carl" as he was known to everyone was born to Thomas Carlos Emmett & Lucy Philena Canfield in Hamblin, Washington, Utah, He was 3rd of 5 children. Don Thomas, Olive Philena, Elsie, Alice Lillian. He lost his father to smallpox when he was on a business trip to Pheonix. They sent home his saddle and spurs. Carl was only 6. His mother remarried John Day Sr abt 1891. He had 3 more siblings. John Jr and Henry (twins)and Emma. He married Esther Elizabeth "Libby" Barnum 27 June 1906 in the St George Temple. They moved to Big Basin, Wyoming for years before returning to Enterprise. They had 6 children.Carlos Larue, Merl, Albert, Deloy B, Charles Kenneth, Dorothy, Clinton.
