Ralph M. Babcock, 71, retired farmer and for the last several years a resident of Moline, died at his home, 1909 Fifteenth street A., Moline, late yesterday after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Knox funeral home, in charge of Rev. W. B. Slater, pastor of the First Christian church.
Mr. Babcock was born one mile east of East Moline on July 29, 1860. He attended the Watertown schools and later completed his education at Fulton college. He married Louise Silvis on March 12, 1885, after which the couple settled on a farm south of Moline, living there until their retirement.
Surviving are the widow and three sons, Milton, John and Ralph Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. P. T. Crockett, all of Moline; three brothers, Dr. John Babcock of Springfield, S. Dak.; Dr. George and Dr. D. A. Babcock, both of Rock Island; and a sister, Mrs. Louise Albrecht of Pasadena, Calif.
