Mount Auburn--Lizzie Hill, 97, of Mount Auburn, died Saturday morning, May 14, at the Virginia Gay Hospital Annex in Vinton.
Mrs. Hill was born April 4, 1886 in Benton County to George and Bertha Gotthardt Kaiser. On Feb. 14, 1907 she married James H. Hill in Mount Auburn.
She is survived by two sons, Ivan Hill of Clearwater, Fla., and Edwin Hill of rural Mount Auburn; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Runyan of La Porte City and Mrs. Walter (Helen) Wilson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three brothers and six sisters.
Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Auburn United Methodist Church, a 50 year member and Past Noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge of Mount Auburn and Life Member of the United Methodist Women.
Funeral services will be at the Mount Auburn United Methodist Church Wednesday, May 18, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Wallace Parmer officiating. Interment will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Russell Funeral Home and at the church Wednesday. A memorial has been established.
