IRA EDWARD HELTON
Ira Edward Helton, 54, resident of Washington, D. C. died suddenly at his home May 6, 1950. He had been in declining health for several years.
Mr. Helton was born in Tazewell County the son of the late Fields J. and Malinda Brown Helton both natives of Tazewell County. He was educated in the school of this county, and followed the vocation of sign painting his entire life. He had lived in Washington, D. C. for the past two years.
He was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters. Albert of Bluefield, W. T. Helton and B. H. Helton of Red Ash; Mrs. Molly Hazard of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Barbara Moore of Newhall, W.Va., Mrs. Margaret Watson of Berwind, W. Va., and Mrs. L. H. Beavers of Raven, Va.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Raven with the Rev. W. T. Millsaps in charge. Interment was in the Hankins Cemetery.
The remains were removed from the Farmer Funeral Home to the residence of Mrs. L. H. Beavers on Monday morning.
