Mrs. Helen Kruta, the daughter of Rose (Kopecky) and the late James Kluzak, was born on March 28, 1918, in Northland Township of Polk County, near Tabor, MN. She attended school and grew to womanhood in the Tabor community, and on December 20, 1939, was united in marriage to George Kruta, at East Grand Forks, MN. Following their marriage the couple moved to a farm in Poplar Grove Township of Roseau County, near Strathcona, where they have since resided. Helen was active in the Grass Lake 4-H Club, was a Farmers Union Leader and active in other community activities. She passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo, ND, on Monday evening, May 30, 1977, at the age of 59 years, 2 months, and 2 days. She is survived by her husband; three sons: Richard and John, both of Thief River Falls, and Ted of Middle River; three daughters: Mrs. Wallace (Adeline) Lenoir of Covina, CA, Mrs. Joe C. (Shirley) Burian and Mrs. Alice Brazier, both of Greenbush; ll grandchildren; her mother: Mrs. Rose Kluzak of Warren, MN; two sisters: Mrs. Paul (Rose) Kaml of Euclid, MN and Mrs. Wilfred (Irene) Taus of Strathcona; two brothers: Henry Kluzak of Roseau and Tom Kluzak of Angus, MN; in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Kruta were held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, June 4, 1977, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Father Eugene Wesely and Rev. Keith Prekker officiating. Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery near Strathcona, with Collins Funeral Home of Greenbush in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Richard Sovde sang "How Great Art Thou" and "Alleluia, The Strife is Over" and was acccompanied by Mrs James A. Efta at the organ. Honorary bearers were Frank Novak, John Bernat, Alex Gust, Frank Pesek, Max Gust and Raymond Taus. Casketbearers were Clarence Zak, Joe Gust, Tony Gust, Albert Gust, Wesley Pesek and John Burian.
