MECHANICVILLE -- Pasquale `Pat` Fuschino , 87, of West Street, Riverside, died Sunday, June 16, 2002, following an emergency operation, at Albany Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Mechanicville, he was born June 29, 1914, son of the late Vincent and Carmella Toscano Fuschino . Mr. Fuschino worked for the General Electric Co. in Schenectady for 35 years as a painter. Mr. Fuschino also took care of all the odds and ends of his son's dental office in Mechnicville. Years ago, he worked for the former Strangs Mill in Mechanicville. Mr. Fuschino did volunteer for the US Army and served for a short time. Mr. Fuschino was a longtime member of the Frog Island Golf League, the former Sons of Italy and its bocchi ball and bowling leagues. He enjoyed small game hunting, and was a proud gardener, enjoyed puttering, could fix anything or build anything, such as his home. He was a member of the Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville. His wife of 60 years, Mary Funaro Fuschino , died July 30, 1998. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jim Merola of Waterford; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Vincent and Dr. Judy Fuschino of Clifton Park; six grandchildren, James Merola, Jr., Anthony Merola, Thea Fuschino -Dalfino, Julia, Paula and Vincent Pat Fuschino ; his brother, James Fuschino , Sr. of Mechanicville; sister, Theresa Kotlinski of Port Richey, FL; his brother, Angelo Fuschino of Ballston Spa; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Tony, Frank, Albert and Sam Fuschino . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul North Main Street Church. Burial in St. Pauls' Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 South Main Street, Mechanicville on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Church Steeple Fund of Assumption-St. Paul Church or the Stillwater Ambulance Fund.
