Lupe was born in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Teclo and Simona (Apolinarez) Paz. In 1949 she met and married Luis Miranda (1929 - 2004) and made a home in Brownsville. In 1968 they moved with their twelve children to Sunnyside. She spent her early years making quilts, embroidering and sewing clothes for her children. She enjoyed watching both English and Spanish soap operas. Her favorite sport was baseball. She enjoyed cooking and chatting with family and friends and completing crossword puzzles.
Her legacy includes 12 children, 50 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren living at the time of her passing in addition to 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who predeceased her.
