He married the former Sophie Zipperer on18 February 1901 at Whitelaw, where they farmed for 5 years. They moved to St. Nazianz and operated a tavern for thirty-seven years.Mr. Fessler was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of the St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz.
Survivors include his wife, 2 daughters - Mrs. Ida Kautzer and Mrs. Georgiana- Vilas Krugar both of St. Nazianz. Two grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. 2 sisters, Mrs. Tillie Brost of School Hill and Mrs. Rose Brost of Cleveland. 2 sons, 4 brothers and 2 sisters precededin death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:45 AM at Christianson Funeral Home, St. Nazianz and at 10:00AM at St. GregoryCatholic Church, St. Nazianz with the Rev. Gregory Putzer, celebrant of the funeral mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friendsmay call at the funeral home from 4PM Friday. The parish Rosary will be held at 8PM at the funeral home.

Fessler, Anton (Tony) (Sept. 10, 1876-Dec. 16, 1969 –husband of Sophia Zipperer [married Feb. 18, 1901 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw, Town of Cato] –son of Anton Fessler [1844-1916] and Lutvina Grotzinger –born Town of Eaton –hotel and tavern keeper –proprietor of the Northwestern Hotel in St. Nazianz –in the 1900 census for the Town of Eaton, Anton is shown as a farm laborer on the farm of Michael Breu at 21304 Schnell Road in Section 33, Town of Eaton –on March 14, 1908 purchased the vacant lot at 106 South Fifth Avenue in St. Nazianz and had a house built –lived here until selling on June 27, 1913 –on Oct. 14, 1911 purchased the Northwestern House saloon and boarding house at 111 West Main Street in St. Nazianz from Peter Geigel –ran this establishment until selling on May 15, 1947 to Herman Echardt –on Oct. 9, 1928 purchased the vacant lot at 104 West Main Street in St. Nazianz and had a house built –Anton lived in this house until his death in 1969 –his widow Sophia lived here until her death on Jan. 14, 1975 –after Sophia’s death, this house was inherited by their daughter Georgiana, who had been living all this time with her husband Vilas and her mother Sophia at this house –died from “congenital heart failure –pulmonary congestion” ) –buried at St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in St. Nazianz, Town of Eaton [buried in Section 2, Row 15, Lot 22 –stone] [marriage record Manitowoc 7-145] [death record Manitowoc 68-12]
