Viva Lee Walker, resident of Tonkawa, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at Ponca City Medical Center. She was 76.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Tonkawa I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home.
Viva was born on March 5, 1934, to Robert "Gus" and Lura Viva Welch Littlefield in Peggs. She attended and graduated from Tahlequah Central High. After completion of high school, Viva went on to Draun (sic) Business College. She then¬ married Jack Walker on Oct. 8, 1954, in Sand Springs. In her later years she worked at Wal-Mart for 17 years, where she was "Associate of the Month" in 2002. Viva enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and going to the hog pens to do chores. Most of all she loved to be with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Jack of the home; one son, Gary Walker of Tonkawa; one daughter, Janet Davis and her husband Joe of Tonkawa; grandchildren, Rhiannon Davis and Garin Davis; and two sisters, Inez Owens and Gladine Applegate.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Leona Applegate.
Casket bearers will be Steve Gessel, Jerry Applegate, Danny Applegate, Dyce Applegate, Jimmy Owens, Randy Owens, David Walker and¬ Cale Walker.
