Martha Lehr, daughter of Jacob Dockter and his wife Margaretha nee Stoecker, was born December 6, 1904 in Ventura, North Dakota where she also spent her younger years. On June 30, 1924 she married Emanuel Lehr at Ashley. Four children were born to this couple. One died before the mother. This couple first lived on a farm two miles east and one mile south from Hillsview, South Dakota. They lived one year in Hosmer, and finally on a farm two miles east of Roscoe. The deceased was a member of the St. Jakobi Church in Roscoe. She was for many years in ill health. On September 23, 1953 at 11 a.m. in the morning she suffered a heart attack and on the same day at 11 p.m. she died at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 17 days. She is survived by her husband, one son, two daughters, 3 grandchildren, 7 brothers, and 4 sisters. The names of the children are Myron P. Lehr at present in the service of our country in Fort Riley, KS, Virginia, Mrs. Walter Mastel, Rapid City, SD, Leah, Mrs. Arthur Dabbert, Aberdeen, SD. The brothers are Fred, Jacob and Gottlieb Dockter in Venturia, ND, Christ Dockter, Charlestown, IN, Adam Dockter, Laramie, WY, John Stroh, Wishek, ND, Mrs. August Dockter and Mrs. Jacob Schlepp, Venturia, ND, Mrs. John Dockter, Ashley, ND. The funeral was September 28, 1953 at St. Jokobi Congregational Church with burial in Roscoe cemetery.
