MRS. DEES
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Mars Dees, 70, 533 Rose St., were held Thursday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church.
Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Nowell Funeral Home. The Rev. Clay Lee officiated.
Mrs. Dees died on Oct. 6 of an apparent heart attack.
She was a member of First Methodist Church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was the daughter of the late Dr. William Henry Mars and Florence Latimer Mars.
Survivors are a son, Dr. Gordon Dees of Jackson; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a daughter Mrs. A. J. Yates Jr. of Jackson; a nephew, William M. (Mont) Mars of Philadelphia; two neices, Miss Florence Mars of Philadelphia and Mrs. Martha Ingram of Talladega, Ala.
Pallbearers were Graham Underwood, George Mars, Charles Mars, Lacie Murphy, Henry Hester, Dr. Porter Jordan, Gully Yates and Ab Davis Harbour.
