Funeral services for Mrs A C Biernatzki, 85, former State Center resident, who passed away December 17 at the home of her daughter, Mrs E G Rounds in Saginaw, Michigan, were held Saturday afternoon at the Brimhall West Funeral Home. The Rev J D Ransom, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Nevada, conducted the services and interment was in Hillside cemetery.

Mrs Biernatzki was born Emma Sibley, daughter of Charles W and Lucy Fellows Sibley, on June 23, 1861 at Genoa, Wisconsin. While she was quite young her family moved to a farm near State Center and it was here she spent her early childhood.

She was united in marriage to Albert C Biernatzki, June 7, 1888, and to this union was born three children, a daughter, Helen Ruby, who preceded her mother in death; a son Charles Sibley Biernatzki, of Cincinnati, Ohio and a daughter, Mrs E G Rounds of Saginaw, Michigan.

Mr and Mrs Biernatzki moved from State Center to Salem, South Dakota which was their home for many years. Mr Biernatzki, an attorney, preceded his wife in death several years ago. For the past 16 years Mrs Biernatzki has made her home with her daughter.

She was baptized in the Episcopalian Church, but for many years she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School classed in the Presbyterian Church in Sate Center and Salem, South Dakota. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

In addition to the son and daughter she is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs A E Jeltsch, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a brother, Stephen Sibley of Burns, Wyoming. She was an aunt of Mrs W J Whitehill of State Center.

Those attending the services from a distance were Charles S Biernatzki of Cincinnati; Mr and Mrs E G Rounds of Saginaw, Michigan; Steph Sibley of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs Paul Royal and daughter Polly of Lincoln and Mrs and Mrs O O Holthy of Maxwell.
