Frederick "Fritz" J. Herr, age 79 of 10432 Highway 42, Newton, (Osman) died Friday morning, October 29, 2010 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan Falls.
He was born March 13, 1931 in the Town of Meeme son of the late Cornelius and Lucida Woelfel Herr.
Fritz was a 1949 graduate of Kiel High School.
On October 4, 1952 he married Kathleen Knier at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Osman.
Kathleen preceded him in death on December 12, 1985.
On November 16, 1991 he married Marian "Petie" Schneider at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Osman. She died March 10, 2006.
Fritz was employed at Kohler Co. for 13 years and then with Hamann Construction until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton and the Catholic Knights.
Fritz enjoyed bowling, golfing, farming and playing sheepshead. He was a member of a card club for over 55 years.
Survivors include nine children, Bev (Charles) Jeanty of New Holstein, Michael (Susan) Herr of Cleveland, Trudy (Ron) Boldt of Valders, Nancy (Jerry) Wasmer of Howards Grove, Janelle (John) Moritz of Kiel, Laura Stein of Green Bay, Patty (Jeff) Schaller of Random Lake, Chris (David) Horneck of Kiel, David (Cathy) Herr of Kiel; son in law, Wayne (Sue) Brunner of Waterford; 31 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Robert (Dorothy) Herr of Howards Grove; 2 sisters, Clarissa Bugs of Pewaukee and sister Marilyn Herr of Green Bay; brother in law, Kenneth (Lorraine) Knier of Valders; 8 stepchildren, Joie (Jerry) Baldock, Patt (Gerry) Schmitz, Robert Jr. (Nancy) Schneider, LuAnn Hackbarth, Debra (John) Stoll, Lorie (Bill) Schmitz, Michele (Brian) Robley and Terry (Jim) Demell.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marlene Brunner, son in law Kevin Stein, brothers and sister in law, Lee Bugs, Arno and Lillian Hickman and Ronald Knier.
