Gen was the daughter of John Clement Parsons & Mary Alice McDowell. She grew up in Santa Rosa and Vallejo. As a child, she played in Luther Burbank's yard. She was very influenced by him and had a life-long love of plants. At one time, she had over 2000 African Violets in her home. She married Champlain Hastings Castle on 18 September 1943 in San Francisco & they had 4 children. Gen loved to sew. She had learned from her mother who had been a milliner in her mother's shop as a girl. Gen's girls always had the prettiest dresses. After she got sick, she took great joy in watching all the birds in her garden.

She has a cenotaph in the cemetery where Champ is buried.

MRS. GENEVIEVE CASTLE

NORTH LAKE --Mrs. Genevieve Castle, 5, North Lake box 6, died Sunday at St. Mary's hospital, Milwaukee, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Survivors are husband Champlain, daughters, sons and three sisters and two brothers in California.

Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Clare's Catholic Church, North Lake, with Msgr. James Doheny officiating.

Friends may call at the Kurtz Funeral home, Hartland, from 4 p.m. Tuesday until 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in St. Clare's Cemetery.
