STILLWATER, Okla. — Clara Amanda Christopherson Kroutil left this life June 27, 2010, at the age of 100.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Stillwater with Pastor Velmer Goebel officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clara was born on March 10, 1910, to Andrew and Marie Christopherson in Naples, S.D. She had fond memories of life growing up on a big farm in South Dakota where she was raised with three sisters and three brothers.

She attended Augustana College, where she received a teaching certificate, and taught in a one room school house for four years, until she met and married Wesley Victor Kroutil, who was there harvesting, on July 12, 1933. They then moved to the Glencoe area of Oklahoma.

Clara was a faithful Christian. She and her family were members of the Zion Lutheran Church, with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Vacation Bible School. She saw to it that her children were confirmed and baptized. She gardened and did crafts, and she and Wesley loved to dance. She also worked many years in the cafeteria of the Jefferson Elementary School.

A kind and gentle person, Clara will be missed by all who knew her, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Marie; husband Wesley; two brothers; two sisters; and one son, Andrew Kroutil.

She is survived by one son, Larry Kroutil, from Luther, Okla.; two daughters, Jan Westmoreland and husband Gary of Stillwater, Okla., and Eileen Borland and husband, Tom of Stillwater, Okla.; one brother, Alf Christopherson of Watertown, S.D.; one sister, Hazel Ness of Clark, S.D.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
