Mrs. Almira H. Winsor, a resident of this city for seventy two years, died last night at the home of her daugher, Mrs. Harley Erwin north east of Marion, with whom she had made her home for twenty five years. Had Mrs. Winsor lived until April 23 she would have been 90 years old. She had enjoyed unusually good health, and even yesterday seemed as well as usual.
The daughter of Norman and Almina Hewett, she was born in Wayne County, New York, where she was married to Frank E . Winsor in 1856. They came west that year, and settled in Marion, where for many years Mr. Winsor and his brother were engaged in the wagon manufacturing business. To the couple were born six children: Mrs. Ella Dawson, who died twenty seven years ago, Hattie, who died in infancy, Mrs. Margaret Erwin of near Marion, Frank V. Winsor of Miles City, Montana, B.V. Winsor of Jeffersonville, Indiana and E.C . Winsor who died in 1924.
For many years Mrs. Winsor was a member of the Presbyterian church, faithfully attending its services and taking an active part in its various departments. Her husband died in 1893. She is survived besides her three children by one sister, Mrs. Mary Parker of Ottumwa, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. E.C. Winsor of Vermillion, SD; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
