Irma Jean Dunkin - Pueblo Chieftain - March 15, 2001 - Passed away March 13, 2001, at her home in Rye. Irma was born May 13, 1933, in Momouth, Kan., to Beulah and Harry Scott. On May 13, 1955, she married Robert Dunkin in Sharon, Kan., and in 1960 they moved to Colorado Springs. They retired from the Air Force Academy in 1988 and have been residents of Rye since 1993. Irma was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Glen Eyrie Chapter 8 in Colorado Springs and a member of Daughters of the Nile, Ruhama Temple No. 7 in Pueblo. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Marie Cochan. Her survivors include her husband, Robert, of the family home in Rye; one son, Scott Dunkin, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two daughters, Roberta Spatz, of Spring City, Pa., and Catherine Dunkin, of Colorado City, Colo.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dunkin will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday at the mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2001, in the Rye Home United Methodist Church, 2063 Main St. in Rye. Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in Rye. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Irma be made to the American Cancer Society.
