Obituary from The Starbuck Times Sept. 23, 1927 pg 1 reads in part as follows;
Mrs. Betsy Alfson, for 20 years a resident of Cyrus, but who for the last 8 years has been making her home in Brainerd, MN, was killed instantly last Sat. eve. when whe was struck by a car as she was crossing a street in Brainerd. The accident occurred about 8 o'clock.....
The deceased was born in Norway Aug. 19, 1848. She was married to Nels Alfson about 54 years ago, & the family moved to Cyrus some years later. For 20 years they made their home there, but in 1916, Mr. Alfson died, & shortly after Mrs. Alfson moved to Brainerd to make her home.
The deceased is survived by 3 sons, Alvin, Nels & John & by 4 daughters, Mrs. Clara Elvester, Mrs. Elida Arneson, Mrs. Frances McClaren & Miss Lizzie Alfson. All the children make their home in Brainerd.....
