"Mrs. Mary Senior, widow of the late John Senior, passed away at her home last Thursday after an illness of diabetes. She had been afflicted for the past few years, having several attacks on different occasions from which she always recovered. Two weeks ago she was taken ill and was confined to her bed until the end came. She came to this village from Wales with her parents when nine years of age and had resided here since. She was united in marriage to John Senior Dec. 27, 1871. Her maiden name was Mary Jones. She was highly esteemed and had many friends. Her life as wife and mother was one of faithful care for her family. She was a member of the M. E. Church and a regular attendant in her younger years. She was aged 66 years. Her husband preceded her in death 15 years ago. She is survived by four sons and two daughters – Thomas, Charles and Hamilton, Mrs. Edward Longbottom of this place, Walter of Franklin Square and Mrs. William Middleton of Leetonia. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon. Interment in Oakland cemetery, Rev. John Kerr conducting the services."

"Mrs. Thomas Jones of North Lawrence, Mrs. Betty Wilmon and daughter Amy and sons Edwin and Charles of Belleville, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. George Kirtley of E. Palestine were among the out of town relatives at the funeral of Mrs. Mary Senior."

Mary was the daughter of Daniel Jones. She married John Senior who is buried here with her.
