VERGENNES - Eleanore "Ellie" Alberta (Blair) LaFave, 69, passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 at her home in Vergennes.

She was born May 20, 1941 in Vergennes the daughter of Carroll and Juanita Porter Blair.

Ellie graduated from Vergennes High School class of 1959.

After graduating she attended Henry W. Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington graduating in 1960 as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She worked at Mary Fletcher Hospital in the operating rooms.

Ellie married Larry E. LaFave Feb. 20, 1961 and moved to Middlebury.

In 1970 they moved to Pioneer Auto Sales in Leicester, living and raising her two sons.

She developed a strong love for used cars, after 20 plus years she and her husband moved to Vergennes.

Still with the love of used cars, she and her bought Vergennes Auto, making a strong comeback on a slow business.

Predeceased by her husband, Larry E. LaFave in 2002; and a brother, Willard Blair in 2003.

Arrangements by the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes.

Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes.
