Mr. Jefferson Adams died at his home near Spring Garden in Pittsylvania County Wednesday morning, following an illness of lengthy duration from the infirmities of old age.
He was more than three score and ten.
He served in the War, since when he has been engaged in farming on the place where he died. His wife and the following children survive: Messrs. J. S., William, Arthur and John Adams, Mrs. Clement of Danville, Mrs. J. J. Motley, Mrs. John Thompson, Mrs. Carrie Watson of Pittsylvania, Mrs. Thos. Shelton of West Virginia, and Mrs. Gertie Smith of Radford. Interment will be in the family cemetery Thursday.
