Organized Crime Figure. He was a small time criminal operating in New York, New York City when he was hired by Luchese Crime Family Capo John "Johnny Dio" Dioguardi to throw acid in the face of newspaper reporter Victor Riesel, who was at the time investigating labor racketeering in the garment district in which Dioguardi was a major power. The attack was carried out in the early morning hours of April 5, 1956 just after Riesel left Lindy's restaurant in midtown Manhattan. The acid thrown by Abraham Telvi blinded Riesel but he continued to write his column until he retired in 1990. Telvi was quickly removed from scene, and was found shot to death on Mulberry Street in Manhattan on July 28, 1956. He was 21 years old.
