Grandfather Jacob Neusbaum of Letterkenny, answers final summons, wagoned between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Jacob Neusbaum died at his home at Stenger, in North Franklin County, February 16, 1910 at 4:25 a.m. He was aged 89 years, 3 months and 11 days.
The deceased was one of the oldest residents in the Northern part of the country. He was born and spent nearly his entire life in Letterkenny Township. "Grandfather" Neusbaum was one of the old wagoners who drove line teams from Pittsburgh to Chambersburg and into Baltimore. He was a member of the German Baptist Church. Relinquishing wagoning he took up farming, acquiring a fine farm and timber tract and raising a large family.
These children survive; Mrs. George W.(Margaret) Geyer of Stenger, John Wesley of Upper Strausburg; Daniel Jacob of Fannettsburg and William Henry Neusbaum at home; also one brother, Daniel of Fannettsburg and 22 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Friday at Stenger with services at his home and interment at German Reformed Cemetery of Fannettsburg, Rev. Casper Hosfeld, officiating.
