Virginia, IL - Aaron ''Jack'' Cook, 67, of 400 E. Myrtle died at 1:03 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville.

Born Jan. 31, 1933, in Poplar Bluffs, Mo., he was the son of Aaron and Mattie Butts Shelton. He married Karen DeFord on March 29, 1980, in Clinton. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David and Paul, both of St. Louis; four daughters, Michelle Eilers Anderson of Virginia, Elizabeth and Dixie, both of Indiana, and Nancy of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Tom Shelton of Cabool, Mo., Clarence Cook of Sesser and Junior Shelton of Mount Grove, Mo.; and several grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

A member of Pipefitters Local 137 in Springfield for 34 years, he was a pipefitter, retiring in 1982.

He was a member of Chandlerville Masonic Lodge 724.

Burial will be in Bath Cemetery in Bath.
