She died in the river/creek that ran through their property.
She had baby ducks she was tending to in the creek. She and her only adopted son Willie (born Dec 1894) witnessed a mud turtle attack one of her ducks so she jumped in the water to save it. Her son, ran and got her husband Ryal and he attempted cpr. Unfortunately, she did not make it.
