"The Late Noah Barrett, Sr. Who Died Aug. 31.

After an illness of about two weeks from fever, Noah Barrett, Sr., a man of sterling qualities of character and loved and highly respected by all who knew him, breathed his last on August 31, leaving his immediate family a sorrowing wife, and six sons and one daughter, to mourn the loss of an exceptionally kind and loving husband and father.

Two sons, Charles and Sydney, live in Everett, Alta.; Samuel at North Sydney; and David , Rupert and Herbert in Truro - the latter at the homestead, Queen Street East. The only daughter, Miss Maud, with the assistance of her uncle, Mr. Peter Barrett, and the resident brothers, attended her father with loving devotion, to the end.

Mr. Barrett was of English parentage, being the son of John and Susannah Barrett, of Rouse, Pillaton Parish, Cornwall, Engl., where he was born on March 17, 1852.

He had been in this country for a quarter of a century and had been a faithful employee at Spencer Bros. & Turner's factory for 23 years.

From a boy he was religiously inclined, and as he came to years of maturity he manifested strong convictions, and a high degree of zeal and loyalty and faithfulness thereunto, to the end of his life.

He was an Elder among the International Bible Students for many years, and was greatly beloved and highly esteemed among them.

His funeral took place on Sept. 1, the interment being at Salmon River Cemetery." Truro Daily News, September 12, 1911, Page 1, Column 4-5
