Etha was the daughter of Ephraim Sears and Martha E (Stanton) Easterday. She was born on July 30, 1880 in Indiana. Etha had 7 brothers: Henry, Earl, Gus, Everett, McClelland, Jesse and George. She also had 3 sisters: Bessie, Ruby Beatrice and Elizabeth.

On October 15, 1898, Etha married Henry Jacob Boon. The marriage took place in White County, Indiana. The couple had 13 children: William, Anna, Dorothea (Dorothy), John, Martha Ann, Francis J, Edward A, Margaret, Mary, Henry and Helen. One other child was born but probably died young.

Etha passed away in June, 1968. The exact date is unknown at this time. She was buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on June 29, 1968.
