"Benjamin Farley, was born in Salem, Mass., in 1810, and was of English extraction. He came to Wilson in 1842, and purchased a tract of wild land on lot No. 48, which he improved and resided on until his death, April 15th, 1876. He was supervisor of Wilson in 1865, and took an active part in filling the military quota of the town. He was elected sheriff of Niagara county in 1857, and was a member of Assembly in 1867 and 1868."
