Adam David Gleisner, 49, of Nicollet, died October 31 at home, after battling cancer for 3 years.

Adam was born on September 16, 1961 in New Ulm.

He was a 1980 graduate of Nicollet High School where he was a member of the wrestling team.

Upon graduation from high school, he farmed and worked as a welder and in construction. He took over the family farm in Brighton Township in 1987, raising hogs, corn, and soy beans. He married Dr. JoAnna Toenniessen on July 5, 1997.

Adam served on the Nicollet County Planning and Zoning Board, was a member of the Nicollet Lions Club, and sang in the choir at St. Paul's Church in Nicollet for several years before joining the Church of St. Peter. He was an avid golfer and Board member of the Winthrop Golf Club.

He was a craftsman who loved woodworking and had a passion for all things mechanical - especially cars. His love for farming was surpassed only by his love for his kids. He was a devoted father and husband and a man of powerful faith in Jesus.

Adam was preceded in death by his twin sister, Angela, and grandparents Edward and Lucy Gleisner and Fred and Marcella Zins.

He is survived by his wife Dr. JoAnna Toenniessen, and their two children, Grace Ellen, 7, and Jared Lowell, 4. He is also survived by his parents David and Marilyn Gleisner of Mankato, brother Alen Gleisner of Prior Lake, sisters Vicky Gleisner of St. Peter and Felicia Petersen of Rochester, Minn., and two nephews and a niece.

Viewing will be Sunday, Nov 7, 2010 from 4 to 6:30 with a prayer service at 6:30 PM at Church of St. Peter in St. Peter, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday Nov 8, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Church of St. Peter with visitation one hour prior.
