Gladys Mund Bauer, 78, Wishek, died April 26, 2009, at her home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, at United Methodist Church, Wishek. Burial will be in Wishek City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Gladys Hein, daughter of John and Christina (Fregien) Hein was born Sept. 14, 1930, in rural Dickey County. She was baptized as an infant in a country Congregational Church in rural Dickey County. Gladys attended country school through the fifth grade and Kulm School through the 10th grade. She was confirmed at the Kulm Congregational Church by the Rev. Remich. Gladys married Lenhart Mund on Jan. 23, 1948, at her parents' home in Kulm. They farmed four miles west of Fredonia on the family homestead. In 1953, they bought a farm four miles southeast of Fredonia, where they farmed until August 1968. They moved to Wishek, and Gladys began working as a Nurse's Aide at the Wishek Community Hospital where she worked for 22 years.

A short time later, she became a part time cook at the Prairie Winds Restaurant until January 2009. She particularly loved to cook German food. Gladys was a member of the United Methodist Church at Wishek. Lenhart passed away Oct. 31, 1984. Gladys married Otto Bauer May 9, 1987, and Otto passed away May 10, 2000. Gladys moved to the Hilltop Apartments March 28, 2009. Gladys was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Gladys is survived by four sons, Del and Ruth Mund, Arlyn and Denise Mund, Curry Mund and Doug and Christy Mund; three daughters, LuAnn and Ron Reich, Char and Steve Zachmeier and Anell and Scott Cieslak; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Loretta and Ron Gall; one stepgranddaughter; one sister, Esther and Hilbert Dittus.

Greeting Gladys in Heaven was Jesus Christ, her Savior and Redeemer and her family members, Lenhart Mund, Otto Bauer, Arthur and Ephrian Hein, Deb and Gabriel Mund, Ken Kuntz, Terry Gall and Cassia Burch; and three sisters, Viola Fehling, Martha Gruneich and Edna Hoffman.
