Mrs. Clara S. Roser

Mrs. Clara Starry Roser, 80, was found dead in bed at her home in the rear of 331 Third St. in Midway Monday afternoon about 2:30 o'clock. Dr. C. G. Crist, the Adams County coroner, said death was due to a coronary thrombosis.

Mrs. Roser was born in Huntington Twp. and had lived most of her life in Adams County. She was a daughter of the late David Herman and Caroline (Blocher) Herman. She was a member of Otterbein UB Church in Hanover.

She was twice married. Her first husband, W. J. Starry, died in 1947, and her second husband, Maurice Roser, died in 1960.

Seven children from the first marriage survive. They are: Arthur H. Starry, Aspers R. 1; Clair J. and Charles E. Starry, both of New Oxford R. 2; Edward S. Starry, York Springs R. 2; Mrs. Edward B. Monnier, and Miss Margie M. Starner, both of Harrisburg, and Mrs. Marian C. Raphael, New York City. There are 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services today at 10:30 a.m. at the Pittenturf Funeral Home in York Springs, with her pastor, the Rev. Paul Wineka, officiating. Interment in the Hampton Cemetery.
