Mrs. Betsy Eads, widow of the late Wm. Eads, died at her home near Gap Mills, this county, on Saturday last, Dec. 1st 1894. Mrs. Eads was the oldest resident of Monroe county and was exactly ninety-six years of age on the day of her death - thus dying on her birthday. She preserved her mental powers and bodily activity in a remarkable degree up almost to the close of her life. Mrs. Eads was a member of the M.E. Church, South, and was highly respected and regarded.
