This is a notice to all who knew "The Racy Stacey Pingree." She died September 25, 2009, 30 days after a basal artery stroke.

During those thirty days, she recovered enough to spell words, had some speech and NEVER lost her quick sense of humor or her love of her Oregon Ducks. Her aides were wearing their colors - one with a yellow shirt and the other with green pants. She pointed back and forth and finally spelled out "Ducks." We all laughed. We will miss that sense of humor. We will also miss her compassion and her hard work to stay cheerful and positive in the face of declining health.

Stacey was born November 27, 1961 and grew up in Lewiston. She was one of the original volunteers at Lewiston Idaho's first Crisis Center and Women's Center and also at the Food Bank. She was also one of the first Volunteers at The Wild Iris restaurant in Eugene in the early 80s.

She moved to Oregon in 1977 and graduated from High School there. Other than a short time in Texas with her daughter Courtney, she lived and loved the rest of her days in her beloved Oregon.

She attended Dental School, was a CNA and Home Health Coordinator. She had her own business "Have Feet, Will Travel."

Stacey had a ready smile and always a cheery attitude. Her clients loved her.

Stacey is survived by her daughter, Courtney Rachel, her grandson, Anthony Cannon, her brother Mark Pingree and her father Ron Pingree. She was preceded in death by her mother Mickey LaFollette, her stepfather Warren LaFollette and her sister Tia Pingree.

The celebration of Stacey's life was October 4, 2009. Her ashes were spread by a lake she loved in Oregon. Please sign the guest book at www.registerguard.com/legacy
