WAGON MISHAP FATAL
Part of Emanuel Ness Right Arm Torn Away, Week age and Tetanus Develops
Sept 11. Emanuel Ness, a well known bricklayer died at his home near Red Lion at 7 o"clock last night. Death was caused by tetanus. Last monday while in the art of backing a two wheel horse wagon out of the barn to have his right arm caught between the wheel and lock, which tore the flesh from the elbow to the wrist. The injury was dressed at the time of the accident by a local physician. During the latter part of last week he suffered intense pain, and Sunday tetanus set in, which caused his death last evening. He was 62 years old and is survived by his widow and the following children: Alvin Ness, Mrs Sadie Eisensmith, Mrs Ross Diehl, Harry, Mamie, Daisy and Bessie at home. His father, Henry Ness and the following brothers and sisters also survive. Wirey, Franklin, Henry, and Michael Ness, Mrs Elizabeth Flinchbaugh, Mrs Rebecca Sechrist, Mrs Sarah Lehman and Miss Callie Ness. He was a member of Peosta tribe No 378 I.O.R.M.
