Son of Eli and Mary Elizabeth Reynolds Harvey. Chesley married Goldie Keller in Feb 1907 in Morgan Co, IN. A part of his obituary reads as follows:
A very large congregation of relatives and friends gathered at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon in expression of their tribute in love and respect in the funeral services of Chester Harvey, who was suddenly called away on Saturday morning, November 8. Rev. Cosand read the scripture and led in prayer. A quartette composed of Orville Templeton, Perry Bonham, Wm. Shake, and Chas. Comer, sang most impressively, "Lead Kindly light" and "Abide with Me." A solo, "He Walks With Me," was beautifully sung by Mrs. Ray Thompson. A very beautiful and appropriate tribute prepared by Mrs. E. W. Day was read by Rev. Wakeman. The funeral sermon was given by Rev. B. B. Shake, who spoke words of hope and comfort on that wonderful subject of the immortality of the soul. The many lovely floral offerings also spoke in their silent beauty of the love and high esteem in which the deceased was held in the hearts of his friends and loved ones.
The pall bearers were Roy Bray, Harry Keller, Elvin Bondenhammer, Ervin Milhon, Sumner Sellers, and Andy Shackles. Those who carried the floral offerings were Burt Cox, Fred Cooper, Ted Brewer, Chester Brewer, Urban Bowman, Martin Magenheimer, Harry Williams, Ben Cooper, Ralph Keller, E.F. Harvey, and Chelsie Thompson.
The burial was in the Mooresville Cemetery and was in charge of the Masonic lodge.
