Johnny Edward Kirk, 47, of Rt. 2, Monroe died suddenly August 31 of a heart attack at Emory University Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday from Alcova Mt. Baptist Church.

Interment was in West Lawn Cemetery with The E. L. Almand Company in charge of arrangements. Rev. Lavon Benton and Rev. E. N. Anthony officiated.

A native of this county, he was the son of Mrs. Etta Kirk and the late Jesse Kirk. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Lizzie Drake Kirk; children; Miss Diane Kirk, Jimmy Kirk and Ronald Kirk; brothers Golden and Kelso Kirk of Atlanta, Quilla (Duck) Kirk, Campton; sisters; Mrs. Lucille Powell, Rutledge; Mrs. Odell Peters, Campton; Mrs. Dru Willie Dalton, Monroe; Mrs. Montine Walton, Newborn; Mrs. Ruby Dalton, Atlanta and two grandchildren.
