Silas Jurgens 1905-1973

Funeral services for Silas Jurgens, 68, lifelong resident of Clearbrook, who died at Joliet, Wyoming, December 19, were held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Leonard Saturday. The Rev. Richard D. Larson officiated with burial in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home.
Mr. Jurgens was born at Clearbrook October 9, 1905, the son of Lauritz and Petra Jurgens. He was married to Mollie Leet June 6, 1936 at Watertown, South Dakota, and was a member of the Farmers Union, the Holst Township Board and School Board of District 27.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Marylee Schroeder, Wausau, Wsconsin, and Mrs. Roger (Joanne) Rhen, East Grand Forks; two sons, Larry of Gillette, Wyoming, with whom he was visiting, and Steven of Clearbrook; two sisters, Ella Jurgens, Clearbrook and Mrs. Frances Kress of Sparks, Nevada; two brothers, Fred of Clearbrook and John of Carmel, California. He was predeceased by his parent, a sister and two brothers.
