Angus McDonald was an original Los Angeles Pioneer and shoe merchant. In 1874, he married Mary. Mary came to Los Angeles in 1868 by train in the first year that trains were able to make the trip. Back then, the intercontinental trains only went to San Francisco. Her and her family took a boat from San Francisco to San Pedro, and a stage coach to Los Angeles.
