Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Jennette officiating. Burial with military rites by Olney Veterans Organizations was in Crest Haven

Mr. Emmons was born on March 18, 1931, in Lawrence County, the son of William L. and Matilda (Pinnick) Emmons. He married Vivian J. Burget on April 10, 1955, at Centenary Church in rural Sumner. She survives.
He was a retired set-up man for Roadmaster and a driver for Senior Citizens. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Olney and Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Emmons is survived by his wife, Vivian J. Emmons, of Bridgeport; a son, Terry Emmons and his wife, Lori, of Honduras; a daughter, Kim Emmons, of Lawrenceville; a sister, Dolly Kendall, of St. Francisville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Olney or American Red Cross.
