Funeral services for Mrs. John W. Wood, who passed away Saturday night after a long illness, were held from the Methodist church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon. The church was filled with friends and relatives, attesting the high esteem in which deceased was held.
Mrs. Wood had been a patient sufferer for more than a year, following an operation which did not relieve her malady. For the past two weeks she had been gradually growing weaker and the end was not unexpected.
A faithful member of the Methodist church, she attended it's services consistently until her health prevented. She was a devout lover of home and the pastor paid a beautiful tribute to her as a mother and wife.
The church altar was banked high with flowers from friends of the family. So great were the floral tributes that it was necessary to have a special car to transport them to the cemetery.
The many friends of this family deeply sympathize with them in their great loss.
