DEATH CLAIMS GOOD WOMAN.
Mattie V. Leeson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Leeson, deceased, passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Gill, 807 South Sixteenth street, at 5:30 o'clock this morning.
Miss leeson was born at Jacksonburg, Wayne county, Indiana.
She had resided in Elwood for ten years, where for the most of this time she had been one of Elwood's most successful school teachers. She had the happy faculty of drawing her pupils to her and they had for her only words of praise. She was very much beloved by all who knew her. Miss Leeson had a most beautiful and attractive disposition and in her death the whole community will sustain a great loss.
She leaves behind to mourn her departure six sisters and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be held at the home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Robert Sellers, pastor of East Main street Christian church, and interment will follow in the city cemetery.
Later -- The body of Miss Mattie Leeson will lie in state tomorrow from one till five.
