DEL RIO Roy "Dude" Cash, 87, passed way Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, in Ozona, Texas. He was born July 19, 1923, in Del Rio, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon E. Cash Cotten of Langtry and Ozona, Texas; son Wayne and his wife, Cheryl Cash, of Gainesville, Texas; great-grandchildren Trena and Danny Cullins of Kerrville, Texas, and Lee and Amana Cash of Erie, PA; great-great-grandchildren Avery Cullins of Kerrville, Texas, Brandon Cash of Coral Gables, Fla., and Sierra Mitchell, Noah and Laney Cash of Erie, Pa.; also numerous nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy P. and Myrtle Babb Cash; wife Billye Louise Cade Cash; son-in-law William Cotten; grandson Jason Lewis Cash; brother J.W. Cash; and sister Mary Alice Cash. "Dude" married Billye Louise Cade on May 23, 1942, in Iraan, Texas. He graduated from the Texas Military Institute in San Antonio, Texas, with top honors at the age of 15 in May before his 16th birthday in July. He held the horseshoe and checker championships for the length of his attendance. "Dude" was a director of the Rio Grande Electric Co-op board of directors and the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association of Directors, member of Langtry Baptist Church and advisor to the Langtry 4-H. He was a longtime windmill mechanic and owner of the Roy Cash Water Well Service, working in numerous counties such as Val Verde, Terrell and Kinney. "Dude" ranched north of Langtry for all of his life raising Angora goats, Spanish goats and Rambouillet sheep. Visitations will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, in G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home chapel with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Chapel service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, with the Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests donation to Hospice of San Angelo Inc, P.O. Box 471, San Angelo, Texas 76902.
