Friends and family are invited to call from noon to 2 p.m., Tuesday (Aug. 18) at the Bond-Davis Funeral Home, 107 E. Steuben St., Bath. Flora's life will be celebrated at 3 p.m. in the Bradford Baptist Church, Bradford, Steuben County, with The Reverend Roland Howard of Binghamton and The Reverend Chris Durham, former and present pastors of the Bradford Baptist Church respectively officiating. The committal service will follow at the Bradford Cemetery.
Flora was born on May 7, 1913, in Altay, Schuyler County, the youngest child of the late Charles Lewis and Dellaphine Shoemaker Perry. She lived in Bradford for over 40 years on the family farm until moving to Bath in 1980. She was an active member of the Bradford Baptist Church while living in Bradford.
Flora is survived by two daughters, Joan E. Teichner of Romulus and Carol A. (Larry) Southwick of Corning; two grandchildren, Kimberly A. Southwick of Orlando, Fl., and Aaron E. Teichner of Albany; several nieces and nephews; and her cat and companion "Jingles."
Flora was predeceased by her husbands Clayton Chatfield and Delbert F. Hawley; and brothers and sisters.
Everyone will remember the delicious dinners and desserts that Flora created. She was a wonderful cook and baker as she maintained a neat and tidy home for her husband and daughters, placing them first and foremost in her life. Her loyalty and devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed.
