Genevieve Szady 1930 - 2010 CHICOPEE - Genevieve Szady, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Wingate of W. Springfield. "Ginia" was born in Holyoke on June 19, 1930 a daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Szady. Ginia was a longtime Chicopee resident and was a graduate of the Holyoke School System. She was a lifelong communicant of Mater Dolorosa Church. Ginia worked for many years for various manufacturing firms in the Greater Holyoke Area. Ginia is survived by her devoted brother, Former Chicopee Deputy Fire Chief Mitchell Szady of Chicopee; her younger sister, Emily Zebrowski and her husband Tom of Holyoke. She also leaves her nieces and nephews: Elaine, Edward, Tom, Thomas, Robert, Carol, Edward and Michael and several nieces and nephews. Ginia was also predeceased by two brothers, Edward Szady and Casmir Szady. A visiting hour will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at Czelusniak Funeral Home, 145 Maple St., Holyoke, MA and followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Mater Dolorosa Church, Maple St., Holyoke. The Rite of Committal will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. If friends desire, memorial donations can be made to Mater Dolorosa School Endowment Fund, 25 Maple St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
