Leona Laureys, 82, of 28050 Darden Rd., New Carlisle, died at 2:00am, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on Dec. 3, 1887, in Montmartre, France, and has lived in New Carlisle since 1902.
On Oct. 9, 1917, Leona DeWaele was married to Philip J. Laureys, of South Bend, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Ernest J. and Albert A., both of New Carlisle. Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Leona was a member of the Woodsman of the World, The Mothers of World War II of New Carlisle, and the Volkskring Club.
