Mrs. R. G. Lambert Dies in Charleston, Rites Held Here
Mrs. Rebecca Goings Lambert, widow of Phillip R. Lambert of Georgetown, died at 8 p. m. Thursday at the home of her son, Ellis R. Lambert, at Charleston. She was ill six months, and made her home most of the time with her son during this period.
Mrs. Lambert, the former Rebecca Goings, was born in Williamsburg County, the daughter of the late General W. and Elizabeth Garrett Goings. She lived in Georgetown and Georgetown County for the past 40 years. She was a member of St. Delight's Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her husband died 16 years ago.
Survivors include eight sons: Britton E., Phillip R., Jr., George W. and Cleveland Lambert of Georgetown; Ellis R. of Charleston, Gasparn R. of Savannah, Ga., Plummer of Columbia, and King Lambert of Lewiston, NC; one daughter, Mrs. Edna Barnett, of Columbus, Ga.; one brother Phillip B. Goings of Charleston and three sisters, Mrs. Viola Bolesman of Charleston, Mrs. Vermell Wadford and Mrs. Kathleen Wright of St. Stephens.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p. m. Sunday at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery Annex by the Rev. Lacey Drew and the Rev. E. W. Hunter.
