COLUMBIA NEWS: -Death of Mrs. McCracken
"Mrs. Mary E. McCracken, wife of L. F. McCracken, the well-known cigar manufacturer on North Front Street, died on Friday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. Elizabeth Davis, on North Third Street, where she was visiting. Mrs. McCracken has been a victim of lung consumption for the past four years and during the past year has been growing steadily weaker, but the end was hastened by a driving accident on Locust Street a few days ago.
The deceased was born in Fawn Township, York County, nearly forty-two years ago. She has been a resident of Columbia for the past twenty-one years and was well known. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. A husband and three children of tender years survive. The funeral will take place from her late home on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock."
