Funeral services for Boyd Burris, 69, of Lancaster, a retired member of the Dallas fire department, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Covenant Church of Dallas, 806 W. Keist, with the Rev. J. A. Lovell, the Rev. W. J. Bratton, and the Rev. Lee Grady officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Mr. Burris died Monday at his home in Lancaster. He was born in Windgate, Ind., moved to Dallas in 1910 and lived here until moving to Lancaster in 1959. He joined the Dallas fire department in 1920 and retired in 1943. He was a member of the First Covenant Church of Dallas. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Homer Burris of Lancaster and Boyd Burris Jr., of Louisiana; two daughters, Mrs. C. C. Canada and Mrs. L. W. Thigpen of Dallas; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
